Game opens but stays black screen

I start the game which then asks if i want to run this application i click run, and then this screen goes from white to black with no sound or anything. I have placed as run as admin as well with no luck.

Have you tried disabling any security software you have installed when launching Salem? A few have issues working with Java. Comodo is one that comes to mind that has done this in the past. I'll be glad to send you instructions if this is the case. Send me a private message if you don't want to post such a thing publicly.

Thanks for replying so fast. I have all security disabled at the moment. Also if this helps, minecraft is also displaying a black screen for me as well.

I am getting the same problem but on the Ender version where it shows me the java I think this is the problem.
Caused by: javax.media.opengl.GLException: Method "glBlendEquationSeparate" not available
Any ideas on how to fix that would be great. Thanks.

I have uninstalled jave 7 tried java 6 it wouldnt even run the game. Ill reinstall java 7, try and roll back one of my drivers for my graphics card

does the game not run on 64 bit java/ or 64 bit system?

This has been showing up a bit recently. See here:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7869#p100734Answer: you likely need to update or roll back drivers on certain nVidia cards. Read through the thread a bit more for some of the discussion on the matter.
To note since it was asked: the game SHOULD run on both 32 and 64 bit systems. It only requires OpenGL 1.5 compatible video cards and runs on under 1 GB RAM and processors at least as old as 2003/2004 (early-mid P4s). If there's a compatibility issue, it's because something didn't install right on the client computer. You'll know there's a problem as the game won't even boot and will crash with a very specific error. (There are a couple of exceptions to this due to unavailable drivers on 32 bit systems.)
Not sure what to tell you on the other. Let us know if this works, and if the other log you posted is still an issue, we might be able to find a solution for it.

mine just stays at black screen...or white at the beginning. No errors...I have a security warning before game starts. I did disabled norton 360 and java security to min lvl. Even deleted cache.
Wanted to try it for the first time.
