Salem

With a new install of both Java7-32 and Salem (with and without Ender) I am having a problem where my character, NPCs, or world items with not load/render. The ground and water textures seem to be ok as is the GUI.

Sorry if this has been posted in the past. I searched all over and found nothing.

Could you provide better information about what you are/were doing when this problem occurred?

If I have to guess without any further information, I'd say that since you just reinstalled Java, Salem has to cache all the data again. This can take some time. Depending on network connection and how busy the computer is with other tasks, it can be just a couple of minutes to measuring ten or more.

This has been going on for several hours. In fact, I let the PC sit idle while waiting on the docks with a new toon (invisible that is).

I am running a 6850 ATI card so OpenGL is fully supported.

Java 7-32 is what I am running now with a fresh install straight from their main sight. I am not running anything special or funky, just their normal install.

I did toggle tripple buffering on and off through my GPU...This seemed to have no effect.

I do not get any form of Java crash or error, nor do I get any log generated that would help....far as I know.

Like I said above, Everything seems to load without issues other than all of the world items....NPC, my toon, buildings, or anything on the docks when you start a new toon. It isn't like it only a few items, it none. All of the text chat from the NPC and all other menus, hotkeys and such are fine.

Your internet ***** trying to load a resource, and now the resource is trying to load/being loaded/already loaded in the client. Try to delete your user\xxx\.salem folder then load the game up and let it sit for a bit to load all the currently visible resources.

I've had this happen to me too, because of sporadic linkdrop issues with my ISP.

Just tried this and have the same problem. I did manage to make it to Boston (blindly clicking where NPCs should be) and again, nothing loading. I can see all the ground textures and such but nothing in the way of placed items or other players.
