I took some coleworth out of a box, right clicked, split, no leaves.
Thought i might have done something wrong, not payed attention etc.
Then i go to Boston, buy a coleworth for 30s to try and get my blood up, right click, split, no leaves.
eh, wut?

Thought to have seen something similar, can't remember with what crop or item though.

You were scammed. When harvesting coleworts, there is a high % chance that one of the coleworts will have less than 6 leaves. A honest trader would remove those coleworts(easily to figure out which it is without splitting by noticing the order they land in your inventory when harvesting) and only put coleworts which give 6 leaves. Other will attempt to scam and that's what happened to you.
If you can take picture of the stall that sold you, it would be great so that other people don't fall for the same scammer.

It's a known bug that when the quantity of a field is just high enough, you get a head of whatever you planted with no content.

It is not a bug, it is an intended mechanic.

It's a bug from a rounding error. Just because it hasn't been fixed doesn't mean it's not a bug.

well sometimes the colewort will only give 1-5 leaves as well (always the last harvested) i try not to buy whole colewort from stalls. Its too easy to confuse the good ones form the one bad one especially when just putting them into a box and deciding a month later "hey i need to sell something, how bout these colewort"

Yes. Farm products can have a partial head. This is intended. Giving less than one, however, shouldn't even give a head.

Yeah I was refering to them being able to give less than 6 leaves. As for them giving 0 leaves: could be a bug, could not be a bug; mathematically both cases could be acceptable.

That's why serious traders have foresight and remove them right away from the "good ones". Although it would make things easier for the buyer if the #leaves was displayed on the colewort.
