is normal that a pm in a outbox disapears?

i had 2 pms in my outbox but 1 is missing i think someone hacked my acccount cause i didnt delete it

PMs, which are in the outbox, are the ones which have been sent, but the recipient hasn't read them yet. After he reads them they land in "sent messages"

This is a distinction with phpBB so that you can edit the message up to the time that it is read. (Just in case you forgot to add something or you decided against sending that scathing message.)
