Okay.. So after numerous days trying to get a beta key.. I finally get one..

To have the issue of a white screened game after downloading. This is I solved by moving it from my download file, to a file on my desktop as the shortcut there did not work either..

anyway,,,, When I finally manage to log into the game, I cannot create a character due my mouse not working.. So I give up after several computer restarts, and trying with each known client..

so then I go over to my boyfriends, and try it on his computer.. and It works fine..

We both run windows 7..
use Avast,
Malware bytes..
I do have tdssrootkiller, but it only scans when I tell it too..

I have an ati radeon graphics card..

Any ideas?

Go into Catalyst, look for the 3D setting "OpenGL Triple Buffering" and make sure it is off. Normally this just causes the client to crash, but might cause other issues, and seems to be common so it's my first and only suggestion for now.

Hiya, i had the same problem. I tried reinstalling java and salem but it did not work, But

I found out how to get it working for me. I went into my display options and changed the color quality from 16bit to 32bit, then i changed the refresh rate from 60Hertz to 75Hertz.

Im running windows xp with a mobile Intel 945 express chipset family so im not sure if this will work with anyone else, worked for me tho!

Nice to see you got the game working on that crap card with windows XP. Can you tell me if your drivers are the most recent from the Intel website, or are they from a manufacturer website...in most instances manufacturer and intel offer the same drivers on their websites.

i think they are up to date, i checked the intel website and i could not find any downloads for this chipset, the driver is version 6.14.0010.4926 - Date 2/14/2008.

-edit-
umm i thought they where up to date but i rechecked and there is a new one out.

the new one is from 2/28/2008. thanks for having me check that! i ussaly always keep my drivers updated heh.

-edit-
i can play salem for a min or so but then i get a opengl crash :/ seems intel has alot of problems with open gl. After i updated my grahics card it lasted about 3-4mins then crash

reinstall the older driver which was working before updating.

Thanks a lot! That worked for me as well. Without changing the refresh rate.
