Just saw a 3 Timber Rattlers attacking a 3 Rabbits ... the rabbits won 2 to 1 ... Am I right in guessing that Snakes only poison Players, and not whatever else they start attacking?

In showdowns between snakes and other animals the other animals usually die eventually from poison even if all snakes are killed.

Nope, Ive had free bear meat from rattlers attacking, just hang around for the poison to take effect! Unless the rabbits were very lucky and didnt get bit.
