Salem

HI Guys, i have tried logging in and it comes up with the settlement screen ? i think then crashes. I have cleared the cache and down loaded Salem again but no change, updated my drivers for video card as well. Cant find this bug (exact type) on these or the old forums. Can you please help.

You most likely have a corrupted download. Flush Salem from the Java cache and download again. If it's persistent, there may be a communications error or other problem.

As I stated, it's a download error and likely a bad network connection. The best thing to do is get someone you know to troubleshoot your network connections and see where the problem is. There still may be nothing to be done because the problem is general Internet issues beyond your system or your service provider.

Someone has posted a temporary workaround here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5460 It will take some effort on your part to keep things working.

Go to c:\users\xxx\ and delete your .salem folder then run the client again. My internet is really ****** lately and this is happening frequently (its not stalling on the same res file, but its same basic error) to me when loading the res's into the .salem cache. I actually had to copy my .salem from a different (working) computer and put them on the one with ****** internet to run the game without infinite loading screen and/or the inevitable delayed resource error.
