Not sure if this is a bug or I'm just really really really lucky today, walking thru grassland and every second myrtle oak I open has one two or three cobwebs in it.
Is it just cos its unexplored? Or is it bugged?

The spawning mechanics aren't yet fully determined or explained. The best answer anyone has come up with so far is that items are spawned in them at the same time they're spawned on the map. If an item spawns in a natural container, though, it doesn't despawn when the map unloads. After so much time and number of map loads, the containers start filling up and you can find a very nice cache of goods.

So I can just smile and enjoy the goodies
That and the open beta pressie... a memorable day for sure.
