Unable to start the game.

I just got a Beta key and I'm eager to start exploring and building. Though, I ran into a problem. As soon as I start the shortcut (provided with the install) the game (java) stops responding and is forced to shutdown. Been trying to select another Java through the shortcut but no success yet.
Have tried clearing cashe over and over again and installing the game over and over again with no success.

Running Vista 64bit
Shortcut target = C:\Windows\SysWOW64\javaws.exe -localfile "C:\Users\Mattias\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\35\5192be3-34e2945c"

Any help is appreciated!

Running Vista 64bit

That is most likely your problem. Regardless, try this:

Delete the temporary files in java, uninstall java, reboot, reinstall java, reinstall client. It will probably work then.

I've took my time to do what you've said 2x, still no luck I'm afraid...

The directory changed though on my shortcut to = C:\Windows\System32\javaws.exe -localfile -J-Djnlp.application.href=http://plymouth.seatribe.se/java/salem.jnlp "C:\Users\Mattias\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\35\5192be3-36abe079"

Which might be some progress but I'm not sure.
So to clear stuff out, did what you said. Still getting the no respond as soon as the game window comes up.
Thanks though! :)

Getting an unreadable error (as I can't read Java stuff >.<)

When I istalled my Java I made sure I got the 64bit versions so the first line confuses me..

If that is with ender's client, that means it downloaded the wrong .dll package for your system. I don't know why it does that sometimes, try read the ender's client thread for similar messages and resolutions. I'll check into it as well when I get a chance.

Alright. Got it to redownload the files as he specified in the post. But now I've gotten the same problem as with the regular client/launcher (once the game comes up it insta-freezes)

Doubt its anything to do with java now. I would say it has to do with Windows Vista and/or video driver support. Depending on what graphics card you are using, you should be able to go your manufacturer's website and check for video driver updates.

If you do find newer drivers, I would reccomend uninstalling the old drivers first, rebooting, and running the install for the new drivers.
