I've been playing Salem for three weeks or so without any problem. But after a couple of days, I can't play. I have this messange when I try to launch Java:

35 views... and nobody can't help me?

my problem is now bigger: when I try to launch the client from the main page, Firefox open several hundreds (yeah, hundred: 400-500 or more) windows. The same when I try to install Ender.

I have unistall and reinstall Java 7 and Java 6, but that doesnt works.

Looks like the game either failed to download properly. This can be several issues. I'd check things out in this order:

1. Make sure you don't have anything going on in the background--other files downloading (torrents, etc), other programs that may take up too much processor time.
2. Make sure security software is allowing connections to Java and Salem.
3. Check your router documentation. Make sure Salem can access ports TCP 1871 and UDP 1870
4. Check with your service provider. You may have connection issues causing problems outside of this.

Clear the Java cache each time if it fails and try again. You need to do this so that you get a fresh copy instead of working with one that may be corrupt.

You may also want to check your computer system for any malware.

Thnks!

Now I can play, but without Ender. I have unistalled/reinstalled Java 7 another time.

Until a few days ago, I could play without any problem, with or without Ender. I have do nothing in my computer, but suddenly I have had this problem.

If things were working fine before and started acting up, you should check for recent updates on your system. Many programs (Windows included) default to auto-updating without even informing the system owner. Sometimes these updates install and bork things up.

There could also be Internet issues at play. Contacting your service provider is never a bad thing when connection quality is in question. Odds are the issue will be something they can't do anything about, though, unless they've been doing hardware/software upgrades.

We've also had a couple of updates recently, and if you had a bad update of the game files, it will do this, too. Clearing the cache and updating will usually fix it. If a 3rd party client isn't working after an update, give them a day or two to get it updated. They won't run until then.

Thanks, MagicManiCT.

I think this is not a question about my Internet provider (ADSL 10 Mb, I dont have any other problem) or malware (I have scan my PC a few minutes ago, zero incidents).

That's something really annoying. When I click here http://plymouth.seatribe.se/java/salem.jnlp (to launch or download the default client) or here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18779594/salem/updater.jnlp to install Ender client, Firefox start to open up hundreds and hundreds of windows in the browser, and Java never run.

I have uninstall/reinstall Java 6 and Java 7, and clear the cache, but it seems that nothing works.

The problem was solved, but after the last update, I have the same problem. I've tried all this:

-Delete Java cache.
-Uninstal Java (with Revo Unistaller).
-Reinstall the last Java (7.11).
-Unabled Windows Firewall.

Nothing works. Any idea?

Sorry for reiteration, nut I dont know what more to do.

Without some sort of error generated other than what you've posted, it's hard to tell you anything different than what I've already suggested. I do my best here, but I'm not a professional and I can't physically diagnose problems you have on your end.

FYI, it's not about the speed of your connection, but it's overall quality. Fast connection doesn't mean good connection. There can be tons of issues everywhere from internal parts on your computer all the way to the service providers systems and their connection(s) to the Internet.

The fact that Firefox tries to open so many windows when attempting to download a file says there's something wrong on your system. Firefox shouldn't open anything other than the prompt to save or launch and then the downloaded files window.

If the Java Plugin for firefox has become corrupted or broken it may be causing issues, and just updating or reinstalling java may not fix it. You may want to try removing both java and firefox, restarting, then reinstalling firefox and then reinstalling java.
