I haven't been able to replicate this bug, but here's what happened. I was gathering materials to create Wortbaked Wartbites and the only thing I needed was an Autumn Grass. In preparation for this, I moved my Dead Wartbite Cricket from my Backpack to my Inventory using Shift-Click. However, at the same time I was doing this, I picked an Autumn Grass. A "?" appeared in my inventory, and I expected it to be a Brilliant Honey-dew. Instead, it turned out to be a Cricket Violin which was not in my Inventory beforehand and I had retrieved the Cricket a rather long time ago so I would have noticed the violin. I know this seems rather unbelievable, but this is truly what had happened.

Yep, I reported this some time ago. But I assume it's not exploitable if devs haven't done anything about it.

Bad assumption. It'd be one thing if the game was live* and been out for a couple of years. This is still beta and in development. Bugs get priority based on how game breaking they are. There's only so many hours in a week a person can program, and so some bugs get fixed immediately, others have to sit for six months or more.
