Thanks for posting this. It might have been posted before, but I'm not seeing it on the bug tracker.
edit: before posting this on the bug tracker, I just want to clarify that A) you have permissions to destroy said trough-- it belongs to you, isn't on a claim, or is on a claim you have destroy permission on, or
B) if you don't have permissions, you have criminal acts on.

They are being used as walls when you build them the right way apparently.

Yeah, it belongs to me. I've tried it on multiple Clay Troughs and none can be broken as far as I know.
Edit: Tried both empty and full as well
