Unconscious on someones claim, more than 24 hours

Postby imrielle » Mon Nov 26, 2012 3:34 am

As title says, I'm unconscious on someones claim, and its been more than 24 hours. I wasn't trying to steal anything (no larceny skill anyway), was just walking across is as a short cut - had no idea that Black Bile drained when you walked on someones claim, though I did know that it counted as a crime and I would have to wait a few minutes for it to fade - not a big deal since I was only out hunting mushrooms, anyway.

How long is the KO actually supposed to last? I had read that it was 24 hours here on the forums, but I had fallen over around 730PM EST, Nov 24. It is now 930PM EST Nov 25. Was there downtime? The character doesn't appear to be dead, since I can log her in just fine.

jorb said it's 48 hours recently. Came as a shock to me, since it was originally 24.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Oh lord, thats a bit... excessive. 24 hours seemed like a long time, 48 is just... prohibitive. This is the one aspect of the game that I really have not liked so far.

*Edit: If it really is 48 hours and not the 24 that I had though, what am I going to do with my time? My house is never dirty, and... its Sunday here. I had actually canceled my Rift subscription to play Salem - yes, instant addiction. :)

I am thinking that it actually is 48 hours now, somehow. It is 1:15AM now here, so it will have been at least 30 hours now of KO time.

This is, of course, assuming she is not, somehow, dead. Someone did walk by at some point while I had the game closed and looted her purse, however, I can still log her in and there is not an NPC on the character creation dock that offers me the option to inherit a claim. I have not died before, though, so I am a little unclear on how that all works - but I am assuming she is "alive" since I can walk another character past the spot she is eating dirt at and see her lying there, little stars spinning over her head.

If there are stars spinning over her head, she's not dead, just KO'd.

Just login on KO'ed char. If it wasn't changed then there is crime debuff in top left corner with timer/clock shading on it. From that you can see how much longer you'll have to wait. (is it almost over or in half etc)

That debuff? It is exactly as it has been since before I got knocked out. It has no shading on it, and hadn't prior to the knockout, either, and the number has not changed. Same deal in the default client (I use Enders, as the screenshot shows). I'm guessing it was changed, if it previously had a timer on it, possibly in the Criminally Thanksgiving update.

I think of it as if the owner of the property shoots you for trespassing, and it takes a couple days to heal up before you can leave. If they let you live that is
