{HELP} idk my problem just help

i need help with the salem client i basically just started i didnt do anything but leave on the ship and i went into options and clicked enable shadows or something like that and then my client froze i thought okay its just changing everything give it a sec then it went to a white screen and now everytime i enter the game it does that ive tried getting a different client didnt work i tried making a new character didnt work please help me i deleted the folder that holds the map and cache and then downloaded salem again but now that folder hasnt come back and i still get the get in game after character selection then i get the luike buttons like options invetory etc and the map and that stuff but thte game is black then it freezes then everything on my pc goes black it comes back then salem is white and everything else is normal im so confused i tried java 6 and 7 no difference i havent even gotten to play yet

find the Salem.cfg file on your computer it should be in your documents just do a search, delete it and it should work.
