When you are knocked unconscious (KO'd or knocked out), you lose everything in your inventory. If you can, you can run back to where you were and collect the items, but there is a relatively short time limit to this. If you have these items equipped, they stay on your person when you wake up (either at your homestead or the colony city).

If you actually die, you lose everything and you have to make a new character. You can inherit your claim when creating a new character, but you start over from the beginning levels. You will have your claim and anything there to help get back to where you were. Currently, there are only a couple of ways to actually die, the most common being death at the hands of another player. Animals can not kill yet.

I think someone simply brought snake to boston and then looted OP while he was KOed. I think I saw bunch of Larceny scents in Boston
