ok after quite some time I decide to play salem and heres millions of problems

first trying to run default client, but downloader just freezes at 80%, is that normal? or something is wrong with my connection? or it's so big?

second I try ender client, download sucessful, but when I login and try create new char an error ocurred:

right now I'm out of ideas how to start this game

Download http://game.salem.mortalmoments.com/res ... d/obtn.res , right click and "save link as". Rename it to obtn.cached , navigate to C:\users\youruserhere\.salem\cache\gfx\hud\wnd\ and move said renamed file there. Also copy it and keep it with the original obtn.res name, just in case it'll pick up on that. might need to make the "wnd" folder in hud. Alternatively I found that a bad client-res file was causing it to not find that resource.

ok it seems I can't access the site at all, it says something to do with DNS etc., when I click save as it just says file not found

The wiki has some steps you can take to fix the whole DNS issue temporarily until their hosting service gets their shizz together on mondayish.

You can choose to follow those or I can try to throw that file up as an attachment and you can try my previous suggestion.

yea I did follow steps in the wiki otherwise I wouldnt be here at all, but it doesn't say anything about salem.mortalmoments.com, or it's supposed to work?

anyways it still doesn't work, or I did something wrong, trying to mess up with files

also I did run the original Ender client, but error is still the same, except that I can download those files

Did you try moving the files to the folder i said then? As long as it finds the files there it won't try to download them. Try disabling your proxy if you have one, and idk if the new jar file darknacht added conflicts with two hostnames resolving to the same IP in case you also modified the hosts file :\

yea I tryed copying those files everywhere I can but nope nothing works

and so I left the default client downloader and went afk, now it's on 90% after like 3 hours yay, I guess it's my connection after all, all I can do is wait until it fully downloads

I once had it that this site would throttle the bandwith to me down to like 10 kb/s and it would haven taken many hours to download some files of the client, resetting my connection brought it back to normal.
If you have the same and you downloaded it with such low bandwith, it is more likely files get corrupted while downloading than if downloaded with decent bandwith, so you should delete the jars anyways, reset your connection and try again, to avoid problems later.
