I think those items are generated over time. Just give it some more days.

Someone already asked in help and same answer was given. Forage the same area for several days to a week. The spawn chance is very low, but once an item is there, just like other containers, it doesn't disappear. Many players don't bother checking these things at all, and so after a week or so of people passing through ignoring the stumps, suddenly there's quite a few with items there, maybe even several items.

Calling ***** on this. The DAY Plymouth went up I was finding **** in stumps all over way the hell on the other side of the world near the darkness. Either the ***** there or it isn't. I'm thinking they nerfed it because you could damned near non-stop gather snake skins from them and make good silver that way.

That's certainly a possibility, but then they could easily create a loot table and have snake skins only pop up 1 in 500 item spawns or less without changing the chances of any item spawning.

At this point, this thread needs to go on the back burner for a few days until we can get some statistical data on it. As I said, the same area should be roamed for a week (the more players over the day, the better).
