Some objects are REALLY hard to click!

I've just started playing the game about an hour ago.
The concept looks very promising and the kind of game I've been looking for (basically, something that's not the same old crap where you just click on a quest master and then click on multiple items to complete a quest).
However, the interface seems to be quite hard to handle, at least for me (I'm on a 64 bit machine, win 7, 8GB ram, intel core i7, running java 1.8.0.66). I find moving around not being smooth at all:
sometimes I have to click multiple times for my character to walk to some point. When I started, I wanted to choose a female char but I had to choose a male char because clicking on the female NPC was impossible. Then, it's almost impossible to click on Nubs. I had to zoom in and click like crazy until I finally was able to feed him a nut.

Is this a known issue? If so, is there a workaround? I've been looking to rotate the view but I don't seem to be able to do so...
I'd really like to give this game a chance, but the interface is very frustrating for me.
Thanks.
