I will walk through exact cause of bug:

1: skin dead pig
2: gather lard
3: get option to gather lard a second time
4: attempt to gather lard again
5: pig instantly vanishes without leaving bones or anything behind

So from what it seems, the bug is having the gather lard option show up twice, when there is no lard remaining the game freaks out and disintegrates the pig when you click it.

I'm sure the bug plague will soon take another one of my beloved animals soon, so I will keep experimenting with all the options in different orders to see what happens.

Interesting. Yes I can see this being the case. Two problems here being #1 that the pig shouldn't give you the option to get lards when he has none, and the 2nd being that he shouldn't just blow up if you manage to create this situation. This will be fix'd in the next restart. Bughat sent, check your mailbox.

I still have this bug, gathered lard, skinned, could gather lard again & the animal dissapeared when trying a 2nd time.

Should be noted as well that if the pig is skinned then butchered afterwards the body does not stay around to gather lard. Lard must be gathered before butchering at this point. Not sure if that was intended as well.

this is the case for anything on animals: once you butcher them down to bones, they disappear.

this bug just presented itself to me again and there goes a dead piggy. Meanwhile barns still crowded and cramped as hell half playing and feeding animals and get back to 3 dozens lol.
