Mouse/Trackpad & Mac- Not clicking

This is not the first time I've had this problem, but it an issue I've only ever had with Salem. When I log in to play, the buttons around the screen are clickable, but nothing in the actual field(NPCs, objects) are. I've looked up solutions such as updating java (already at recommended version), and making sure it's not 16bit (it's 64). In the past, I used a third party launcher to get around this, but I worried that it's been so long since the one I used updated, that I shouldn't use one.

At this point, is there a fix for this?

In that case you're looking at the wrong thing, because I'm sure you're not using 64-bit color depth. :)

Edit: Right, mixed size with color. And, apparently the updated operating system will not let you change the display. It's at maximum, regardless. So the issue still remains: optimized java and display, and the mouse does not work. (On a side note, anyone sucessfully playing on a macbook pro, what settings did you have to modify to play? Are you using a different client?)

I'm having the exact same issue, all the menus and buttons are clickable but not in the playing area. Using OSX 10.10.2

I have the same problem- using the vanilla client on my OS X Yosemite desktop, my game starts but I am not able to use my mouse to do anything except click the buttons on the side. I CAN move with WASD, but this gets me nowhere because I can't choose my gender to move on. This sucks, because I really want to play this game. And for anyone who says to use a custom server, I tried both Ender's client and Latikai's client. When I try to log in on them, it says connection refused or connection failed, something to that effect. I can guarantee that I was typing my username and password correctly because it works for the vanilla client and I double-check every time I try to login. I also do not have any programs that might interfere with the login. Somebody please help me start up this game :(

Did the three of you check your color depth?

Sorry, I'm not familiar enough with OS X to tell you that. :)

I had this same issue, and I was never able to get it working. I'm sad, because I would love to play, but I cannot.

People keep saying to change the color-depth, which you cannot do on latest versions of a mac, and nor should you need to. I realise the problem may not be the Devs fault at all, but it is a critical bug for anyone on an OSX laptop (not sure if it affects external monitors), since we cannot play at all. They should figure out what WE need to do, and put up a guide, if it is not something they can fix on their end.

They will get very few mac users, because the game doesn't work out of the box on macbooks, and most people aren't going to bother coming to the forums to look for a solution. (which no one has gotten, I may add). I am quite a technically savvy person, and even I can't figure it out. I even tried to download external 3rd party programs to change my color depth, which didn't work either. I've looked at every thread on this topic, and some go back many months. No one has had success from what I can see.

I would love to see a real solution to this problem, because I want to play this game, and I want to give them my money.

For the record, the game did use to work, I played years ago and it worked fine. I believe the issue may lie with macbooks, or the retina display, but i'm not sure. I don't have an external monitor at the moment, or i'd try hooking it up and see if it worked.

anyhow, just my rant. :)
