Hi guys,

I've been trying to start Salem dor a few days, and I have created a new character... However after i took the boat to providence, the game crashed and crashes again everytime i try to select my character. Looks like i can only create new characters and stay on that very small town before taking the ship.

I've tried pretty much everything I found on this forum, so if you know what to do, please help me :)
Here is my error:

You are getting crashed by a Makeshift Cornerpost that tries to load and your virus-protection/work computer, &etc &etc is disallowing you to download the latest resource of it.

How do you connect to the internet? Most routers have built in firewalls that you sometimes have to manually open. Try connecting to another network (wireless) or bypassing the router (wired).

I'm connected through a basic modem using an ethernet cable (wireless not corking :/). I did try to switch on my mobile phone connection (sharing 4g with wireless hotspot) but still the exact same error, though my 2 previous characters had been killed (maybe because i have never actually played them).

What you are saying is that this error comes from a connection problem, probably some kind of security parameter blocking acces to the specified url (http://game.salemthegale.com/res) ? Could it be a closed port issue ?

It might be a port issue. It's been a while, but this has come up before for some people. The ports used are TCP 1871 and UDP 1870. (I seem to recall it being isolated to specific routers, namely a German manufacturer, but memory may not be right here. Would have to dig to check.)
