During the process of building a Finery Forge, several materials from the build project have disappeared even after being built onto the sign-posted plan. I'd say within about an hour of them being built on by both myself and the others at the settlement, three planed boards, three pig iron and four leather are just missing. I understand items just placed into the build plan in the first column will be lost after a short amount of time - but these were certainly in the third column.

I'll admit I'm not very knowledgeable about the build mechanics; so I have to ask, is this a bug? Or a feature I was naively unaware of? Since a housing build plan nearby, with parts built onto it, has remained totally fine - but this Finery Forge has just mysteriously lost several pieces, which makes me lean towards the bug category.

Most problably not a bug, did you build it on claimed land? Materials decay and sometimes full signposts dissapear in a matter of hours

Are you sure you built them in - they were in the right-most spot?

Built just off the edge of claimed land - maybe that was it. The materials were certainly built on though, then shortly after that a portion were gone. I'm assuming a way of minimising the amount of build-plans there are on off-deed areas that could spam up the landscape..

That makes sense - thanks for the responses guys, learned my lesson the hard way. Wish I could go back in time and not have made the first Finery Forge with one set of bellows sticking through a wall, and another blocked by a mine entrance. Planning is definitely not my strong point. =p

There is no decay in mines.

So what's a point in building finery forge offclaim but not in a mine?
