Lag on random drop

It may have been complete coincidence, but the server lagged for a couple of seconds right when my character got to a flower I had sent him to pick, I assumed the lag would be with the client so I clicked in the direction I wanted to go next and when everything caught up I noticed I hadn't picked the flower, so I went back and picked it and got a colourful autumn leaf with it. If it had been lag at my end then the animals would've flicked to their new positions and the flower would've been in my inventory. I don't know if this is all that relevant but it seems like possibly some large load for the server related to random drops.

its not a bug, you just haven't had that item cached before you found it

next time you got it there wont be any 'lags'

Well that seems odd, whenever I haven't had an item cached before I have had a ? in my inventory. Its not a major bug or anything, I just thought it was possible the server was taking a long time to do the random drop probability roll for some reason. As I mention, I am certain it was the SERVER that lagged, not the client.

if you don't have it cached, indeed, it will just be a '?'.

Then again, if it were the random drop taking so long, you'd end up with teh random drop actually in your invent once the lag passes.
More likely, it was simply coincidence.

well, i wasn't talking about rare drops that are taken automatically with another item but about the ones that cound be found on a ground (like salamander or creepy centipede)
