Charred something

Should charred somethings weight 400g more than meat shreds? Or is the weight being added because the weight of the meat shreds isn't being removed when the charred somethings are added?

There are a bunch of strange weights. Like a cabbage being heavier when split and black sand weighing more then the rubble it came from.
