This. Reality is perfectly flat what you think of as hight is just the flawed way you perceive the quantum gap between certain locations on the plane. Once you realize the the 3rd dimension is nothing more than an illusion you will be able to ascend above it.

but yes, this game is 2.5d and not 3d, therefore height differences do not matter in distance measurements
