Well why just roaming around i tried to access salem using this link

https://forum.salemthegame.com/viewtopi ... =12&t=7666

I am UNABLE to access this page, due to salem being an untrusted connection through firefox.

You get the message

This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect securely to forum.salemthegame.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place.
However, this site's identity can't be verified.
What Should I Do?
If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

Just wanted you guys to know, there are several times i have tried to access the website through google, to get these warning messages.

It could potentionally deture players from joining the game, if they search for us through google, to get a huge warning message of an untrusted website.

There could be several reasons for this message. The certificate may have expired. The certificate service may have outages. There could be someone actively trying to hack either somewhere in between your computer or the certificate server, etc., etc. I've not even touched on all the possible problems. (I'd suggest something locally, but it's more than one person having the issue.)

There IS a security certificate issued to Mortal Moments. It's not the issue of not being trusted. When you get this kind of issue, there's not much that can be done at the moment other than wait and see if it changes in a few hours. You can try accessing the site via HTTP instead of Secure HTTP, but that is another set of potential issues and some people don't like to do that. (I don't like sending out login and password information over unencrypted HTTP, but many sites ask you to do this and too many don't pay attention to this.)

edit: when I try to get the IP for the site, I keep getting "unresolved" errors. There's a DNS issue from what I can tell. Your computer/device could have the IP cached in the local DNS already, so you can find the site, but the secure connection may be trying to look it up and not finding anything.

for a long time, there was no HTTPS for this forum without an untrusted certificate, so I ended up growing lax in my use of it :) I still don't see why phpbb can't make an effort to encrypt passwords but that's besides the question.

It appears that there is an actual error in the certificate rather than it not being trusted, as MagicManICT pointed out. I'm having the same issue.

chrome's actually not writing about the certificate, but it just says that hackers want to steal your passwords through this site, which is a major turn off

I contacted JC directly about this, and he is aware of the problem and is investigating.

it's working for me again now.
Just so you know, firefox is a ***** about removing non-secure entries from your quickbar. For some reason it prefers http to https for me.
Lazy browser
