I think I have encountered a bug. I got a broken leg which is supposed to reduce my speed. But if I pick the carcass of a dead animal I actually go faster than without carrying it.
I noticed that while inside my mine, a splinter equipped and carrying a beaver.

Aware of the issue. its on our list.

This is why we can't have nice things.

But seriously it probably needs fixing.
