Shovels doesnt matter

i just noticed when i tried to DIG CLAY from a Clay Place it didnt matter if u used hands, a Metal Axe, Shovel or Metal Shovel, it all had the same speed.
edit: also being able to dig clay without having a shovel seems to be a bug also?
probably unintended?
