Logout/disconnect stuck while riding a horse

You can't log in if you logged out or disconnected on a horse. It just blocks your location and forces you to 'teleport to homestead losing your inventory'. Horse isn't moving while you're not logged in, I think it's something about server calculations and location just freezes if there is no player around, so you can't just wait for horse to move.

My client crashed while riding a horse before. I logged back on and it had wandered 5+ squares away. Has this happened several times?

3 times in a row for me, every time forsing me to log with alt character and go all the way to the place where I was disconnected. And every time horse was moving only if I see it with my alt.

Any chances for it to be fixed? I'm a little tired of losing my money and loot ._.

Well, without further explanations I'm not sure it can be fixed. I made several 3-4 hours trips on a horse and never crashed.

I guess you can't face the problem caused by disconnect if you have a good and stable connection.

What do you want me to explain? It seems to be quite well described in the first post. If you lost the connection while riding and if there are no players around to trigger your horse's movement, you just can't log back. The horse is a game object and it blocks your character's last location.

The issue was never about the horse crashing him, but rather about the horse sitting its lazy ass in the exact same location it was when the person logged out / got disconnected. As if without any actual players in the area it doesn't have any incentive to move away, and thus let a person log back on in the same location. While speaking from past experience is sometimes helpful, could a dev test this more extensively when they have some time? I'd suggest going to a place on the map where nobody else is nearby to keep the area loaded, then pull the plug or reset their network adapter or simulate a disconnect as best they can.

Sorry Xsardi, I read your post totally wrongly, some brain lag happened.

Well it's weird that the horse wont move if the area is empty. Other animals use to do so until the area is unloaded. At least that's what I think I witnessed when going around a bear and meeting it some tiles away when coming back on my steps.
Although it may be usefull to test that on rabbits and such like logging out near them.

If so, I suppose it's really a bug, and a boring one when you happen to disconnect whenever.

I've had exactly the same problem before ( a couple weeks ago ), lost the horse + my full inventory :(

tried waiting 'till the horse would run away from that spot' but still couldn't log in.

Its odd that the horse is not moving out of the way. I've crashed while ridding a horse several times and I always can log back on and find it has wandered a short distance away. Maybe for some reason your horse is not registering that it no longer has a rider.
