Wooden Box

Postby Leel » Tue Oct 07, 2014 11:19 pm

Hi,

something is wrong with the wooden boxes since the last patch. It's really difficult to reach 'em now.

Nothing was changed in the wooden boxes in the last patch. Can you be more specific?

Probably an issue with what angle you need to go at them from to be able to access them. Perhaps a change in boulder/fish trap hitbox? They were pretty nasty to access before as well, even if laid out like the two in the screenshot.

Even if nothing was changed, the wood crate's hitbox is really annoying. Sometimes you need a minute of pixelhunting to reach it. Pliz maek bettar!

The wooden box hitbox has always been rather small. So, if you place them too close together, you can't access them easily because if you approach at an angle, your hitbox will interfere with the hitbox of the crate Next To the one you are trying to access. The solution is to either deal with having to come at the box straight on, or place your boxes farther apart so they don't block each other, or I guess we could make the hit box bigger to force you to place them far enough apart. In my experience, of you just keep it at one square per box, you'll be fine.

Couldn't interaction distances/boxes be made different (and larger) then hitbox?

actually I've noticed this as well, when you place 3 or more wooden boxes together it makes it more difficult to reach the center one, more difficult than before anways

It's because you make ugly crates placement. Do that and be happy forever with your crates.

That's pretty clever, I think I will do that.
