Can anyone help? Whenever I try to log on I get this error in big, red letters.

This is usually network related. Something is timing out in the transfer process. It can happen on either end or somewhere in the middle. Ensure that you don't have any security software blocking Java or Salem. This includes any routers that you are using that have built-in firewalls. Make sure ports TCP 1871 and UDP 1870 are open for use by Salem. Check to make sure the communication isn't dying somewhere in the middle by pinging the game server: game.salemthegame.com
If you're using public systems such as a university, school, library, or work for network access, you may need to check with the system administrator to resolve the issue.

i was playing all day today and it just started doing this just now....i dont have firewall or antivirus or anything

yes but its working now..i restarted my pc and its working now

Not exactly. As a good "captain of the ship", you should be fair and give us a part of their tears. At least to keep us warned, that you're not gonna tolerate anything like something they have been banned for.
