Going to bump this back up on account of remembering that the new dev team might have different ideas on how to tackle this

So I'm more or less in the same boat, game gets sluggish and freezes up for a second or two sometimes, quite frequently when it gets in the zone. It makes most everything a chore, and while being in absolute wilderness with few animal spawns and trees around does help a bit, being in town is just a turn off, navigating between pots to plant stuff is nowhere near as enjoyable as it would be were it not so choppy.
I'd like to reiterate the issue of sheds being nearby, as that seems to have been a reported issue before, and being in my shed-riddled town definetly sets off extra choppiness. To add to that, a friend that just replaced chest loaded carts with sheds has been having much more lag / choppiness than before.
So as both a specific (to this issue) and general question, do you guys have any plans to go over the code and try to optimize a bit more for lower end machines and/or internet connections?
I really hope so, because seeing as the game will turn more and more towards the PvP aspect, I'd really love to be able to enjoy it without the frustration of my framerate getting me killed

I welcome tears of rage caused by my own incompetence, and dread similar tears caused by the game being unplayable in delicate situations.
