Dry Boards missing

Last night I placed and built 10 dry boards in a sign post for a Farmer's house. This morning they were missing. I had placed 10 dry boards and perhaps 4 hay. I built them to save them there and though I'm not certain the hay was still there, the dry boards were definitely missing after having them built into the placer sign. Anyone else notice stuff like this?

I can't imagine I forgot to build them into the sign and some punk taking them because there is no other sign of anything out of place. So anyway at least its documented and if it re-occurs maybe it can be sourced.

I've never noticed anything going missing from signs, including dry boards stored for a long time.

Most likely they were stolen.

Don't forget, if it's not on your claim it's not yours.

If it was not on a claim and you built them in then it was probably decay.

I'd go with decay I suppose. 12 hour decay, that's some crappy boards I made lol. glad I didn't finish that house with them

Sign post are very vulnerable to decay, never leave them off claim.

DarkNacht hits the nail on the head. You'll be able to tell they decayed out, even if you built them in, because the percentage counter when you finish will run over 100%*. Make sure you claim any land you're building on with a good tile clearance just to make sure no part of the hitbox is exposed to decay.

*At least, this is how it used to show. It's been a while since I've ran across this issue myself (and haven't been paying as close attention to the newbie questions), so can't say if it still runs this way.
