I've done that as well. Have been trying everything I can think of in order to get it to work.

I have an idea that might be worth a try, but I want to check it out first to see if it will even work. I'm not even sure I can hack the files to make them do what I want.

Let me know if you come up with anything - I'm able to run this on a 2nd PC - not sure what is wrong with the one I'm on now :)

If what I'm thinking of works.... There's an extension .jnlp inside the salem.jnlp and that one isn't running for some reason. You might be able to manually load it... I don't know.

Try loading this file: http://plymouth.seatribe.se/java/jogl/jogl.jnlp. It may do nothing. It might solve it. I'm not familiar enough with loading Java apps with Java Web Start and so I could be completely off base.

edit: cleared out Salem from my Java and tried this... didn't seem to do anything on my system. I'm trying to reload Salem at the moment and will see if I can manually go in and delete the appropriate jogl.* files and force it this. (It should just reload them next time I start Salem, though.)

edit: just found out that the default Salem client doesn't show up in Java's cache viewer at all... :| So much for my earlier suggestion. However, if you had ran Ender's, it still should have attempted to load the jogl.* resources. I looked at the jogl.jnlp file and there's a listing of OS/CPU combinations. This is a question for loftar (or anyone else that might know for sure), but would it be possible to have an OS and CPU that isn't listed there, and so the appropriate packages aren't loaded?

I'm running the following if that helps at all:

Intel Core i5-2400@3.10GHz
16GB Ram
Win7 64
AMD Radeon HD 6450 (have current drivers)
Running Java 6 update 37 (64 bit)

I've tried 32 bit, Java 7, salem alone, ender's client and any combination of them that I can think of, still not running at this point.

Really appreciate the help!

Interesting - Just received an error on loading -

java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: C:\Users\xxxxxxx\Salem\bin\jogl.dll: Can't load IA 32-bit .dll on a AMD 64-bit platform

Not sure if this matters or not.

Actually, that does. What version of Java are you running? Make sure you have Java x64 installed. (Usually getting the wrong version is because you're using a 32-bit browser instead of a 64).

Java 6 Update 37 (64-bit) is what is listed on my add/remove programs list in windows. That is the only Java install I have.

BTW- the error is received when running ender's updater.jnlp

You should check in on Ender's thread about that. I don't stay up with all the error reports there. I know I've seen the answer, but don't recall it.

Ok - figured the version error. For some reason Ender's was downloading the 32 bit version of the files instead of 64. Removed the /salem directory, re-ran it it downloaded the correct files.

Now, it's doing what it did before - will start the client, but renders a blank window that hangs and have to force close via taskman.
