Satan salts bug

When i try to craft smelling salts using antlers of fur fur instead of receiving the usual satan salts i get normal smelling salts, i thought they would "rot" but tried with new fur fur antlers and same thing happened so now i can't craft satan salts. What's the deal with this?
Happens with normal pilgrim and witch alike

You need to have Folk Medicines in the first place to grind up antlers.

Edit: yeah, I think that's what it is. I just ground up one of the two antlers of FurFur you gave me for those tourniquets and I received:

I'll give you those 9 salts and (presumably) another 9 if you need them. They were your antlers anyway. You gave them to me after I gave you 30 tourniquets because you were ALWAYS bleeding in your streams.
