Cannot place stove

I have been trying for some time to place it, with no luck.
I have attached a screenshot of how i usually do it, i have also tried placing it a little deeper into the gray zone and a little more into the house floor, still no luck.
Have tried staying exactly at center when placing, still getting the "you cannot build that there" message, if i move really close when trying to place it doesnt even say anything, just bumps the character a little.
I have been using ctrl to detach it, and shift to rotate it exactly right.

Any help and tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hold ctrl to allow free placement of the object, then move it forward on to the wood floor a tiny bit.

Still no luck, anything else i can try?

Back up. You are standing very close to the spot.
Also, after you click to start placing you can use WASD to move your character, thus changing the angle of placement if the mouse wheel doesn't help.
