Firing a musket from canoe

Not sure if this is a bug but about 20% of musket shots from a canoe shows only firing animation - no tracer or impact whatsoever. Have anyone else had the same issue or is it only bad luck?

Well, I'm explaining that like canoe (or a boat) being here as an obstacle for the bullet. The same thing as you're firing through the stump or boulder. Cause the fact is that you have left(or right or front or back) side on the firing direction. Anyway you can shoot from the left/right middle sometimes (as from a boat).
I'm not sure that the case with canoe is a bug, but they should fix it (surely if they want boat firing).
If they ever fix it, it won't be very soon
