Can't log in [this isnt the fire bug]

Postby JohnDubya » Thu Feb 21, 2013 1:50 pm

Help! I cant log in! [This isn't about the fire bug] Normally if I cant play after getting to the character screen Its because someone is using a fire near to where I logged out (If I'm anywhere near a fire I crash (Radeon 9200SE)) but this time I dont even get as far as character selection. It only did this today, Salem was working fine last night. (except for the fire bug of course).

Haven error! An error has occured! The error has been reported. Details:

Updated java and deleted all catched and installed files and redownloaded salem from http://plymouth.seatribe.se/java/salem.jnlp and still getting same error msg but the details look slightly different now. (different error code at start, didnt bother reading rest coz I dont understand any of it)

As of the update last night, the client was updated to use OpenGL 2.0. I don't recall the list of supported video cards, but yours may no longer be supported. I've been trying to find a list of "earliest model" cards for OpenGL versions, but can't seem to track down the list I had found before. I'll see if I can dig up some more info during the day or so.

Believe me, I feel for you. I've got an AMD Athlon XP I've scraped to keep updated. The last video card I bought was the fastest AGP card I could find (because I just couldn't wait another six months for the PCIe boards to come out) and have had nothing but driver issues with it. The card works great when the software is compatible, but crashes constantly when things aren't "just right".

I did dig it up, and no, anything prior to the R300 GPUs (Radeon 95xx, 9600, 97xx, 98xx) don't support OpenGL 2.x and newer.
