Lost homestead

I had a homestead, a nice position in the mountains, I went out a bit, around Boston, searching for silver, when I got back, I tried to teleport back, but says I have no homestead. I didn't have a leanto, I had that pillar, and my name on it, why can't I teleport back?

when you stake your claim (you place the "pillar"), you have to check the option "Homestead here" (or something along these lines). Probably you didn't do that (as player claims cannot disappear for at least the first month after they're placed). Any leanto you had beforehand might have been destroyed by now, resulting in you not having a homestead. Sadly (unless you very specifically know where it was), there is little to no hope of finding it again.

EDIT: also with one of the more recent updates, try and see if you get a homestead pointer with the UI option. I doubt it, honestly

I guess I didn't do that. So all of my stuff, all those rare items and my silver there is lost
Had like 7 baskets full of stuff ... all lost. True morale breaker. At least I still have my skills...
No idea where it is, and homestead pointer doesn't go on.

I'm sorry for you.
My first homestead (leanto) was also destroyed. I didn't know thats possible in the first days.

And I'm sorry for you, that you dont know where your claim are.
But 6 container are not so much... it would be worst, when you have a house and chests and other buildings and then you don't mind the position of your claim.
Inventory of 6 containers are quickly refilled in a new claim.

For the next time keep in mind always look the land near you, use ender client to store map in the salem folder and search it on any map tool wich is posted in several threads.

I'm wandering often around the world and build everywhere a leanto to sell items that i'm find in world.
So it is very important to know where my claim is, when i'm wandering any days around and hours from my claim away.
