Friend having problems on default client

Postby firefox2026 » Thu Jan 31, 2013 6:54 am

My freind is getting this error on the new client quite frequently. He is using a gatewayNV54 laptop with 4GB ram. I know he usually has a lot of problems on this machine to begin with, but the enders client with the mem fix seems to work best for him, but he is finding he can hardly use the current default client.

Here is his error report below.

The majority of the time, when you get this type of error, it's a bad download. Clear Java's cache and download again.

The error is recognized by "Delayed error in resource." the exact target can be just about anything that exists in the game.

Okay.

So I got it working now. However, when I try to connect it won't let me.

Did you check to see if the server is up? Sometimes after a large patch the servers come up and down frequently for a day or two and it doesn't always update the status properly. (Note: the Plymouth server is also the login server. If it's down, nobody new can connect but anyone else still connected to another server can continue playing.)

If you're sure the servers are working (can connect with another computer or a friend just logged in), make sure that security and your router is configured properly. Check your documentation for your security software about connecting to the Internet with Java programs. You may need to make sure ports TCP 1871 and UDP 1870 are open both for the security software and for your router.
