Cant fish unless swimming??

was trying fishing for the first time, managed to cast once, while waiting I went to the wiki page to read more about fishing, when i came back after abotu 20 seconds it had finished. i was just standing there empty handed. i tried again... after i cast, i pressed the "regain composer" in the hotbar, emmediately i stopped fishing and did the "move". Not sure why I pressed it. Then I tried to fish again... but it wouldnt let me. I was told I needed to turn swimming on when choosing the spot to fish, after activating the fish skill. So i did, then he jumped in the water to start swimming and fishing simultaneously... unfortunately I had low phlegm and drowned

If the game says you need to turn on swimming, just click a little bit closer to shore when you get the fishing cursor. As for the fishing itself, it takes a while before the fishing mini-game screen comes up. Just give it a few seconds. Depending on the choices you make in the mini-game and the fish you're getting on your hook, you will or will not catch the fish.

You'll know if you clicked the wrong place if you don't walk up to a location and start fishing. In fact, unless you are capable of clicking the exact same pixel every time, you'll always move just a little bit the next time you cast. There's no need to cast in deep water, either. You just need to cast into water. If you have no shallow water or want to fish in deeper water, bring a boat.
