Bug: false "you do not have ingredients"

Postby summertime » Sun Nov 16, 2014 10:21 pm

Basically, when you are trying to make tortillas from cornmeal and water and the cornmeal is in different "stacks", it seems like client gets bugged and doesnt reckognize that the selected items have high enough quantities and give you a false "you do not have ingredients" despite selecting (greenish color) both the ingredients.

To replicate:
Get a bucket with 10l of water, and 30 corn seeds. (Nothing else in inventory). Then convert the corn seeds into cornmeal; this should yield you 1.20 kg of cornmeal which is enough for 8 tortillas.

Then go to a baking table, and use "craft all" to hopefully craft all 8 tortillas in one go. Do not close the window for crafting tortillas.

What can happen is that when there is one stack with 0.30 kg cornmeal left and 7.90 l water left in bucket, it will stop producing tortillas despite clearly having both "greenlighted" and then if you try to click "craft" or "craft all", it will say "You do not have ingredients". To "bypass this" one can reopen the tortilla crafting window.

TL.DR: bug hat plz.

It should be noted, at least, that an item can be "greenlighted" without necessarily containing enough. If a recipe, for instance, requires 30 of something, and you have an item with 20 of that, it will be selected for use for those 20, and thus highlighted. Just because an item has been highlighted, therefore, that doesn't necessarily mean that the recipe is craftable.

Also, it should be noted that, once an item has been thus selected, the crafting window won't "update" it if its contents change. So, for instance, if you have a recipe that again requires 30 of something, you have an item with 50 of that, craft one time so that 20 is left, and then add to that item by some other way (like picking it from elsewhere and right-click it into the item that now holds 20 of it), the crafting window won't notice that until you make it "reselect" the item for instance by taking it out of your inventory and putting it back in.

Surely, it can be argued that it should be able to detect when an item changes in amount, but if that's the problem here, then that's more like feature-request than a bug.
