skill learning bug

Worked for a couple of days now and finally am ready to settle. unfortunately after meeting all the requirements I still cant learn settling. the wiki says I've met all the requirements, self defense, colonial tradesman ship, and all the inspirational skills. but its still in red and wont let me buy it. da fuq is this?

If it's in red then it means you have it available. You just have to raise your proficiencies. See the costs of the skill? Can your pfoficiency bars hold that much points? No, so you have to raise proficiencies

Updated the Natural Philosophy requirement to the wiki, but to be fair it says it in the skill description before learning it exactly how much of everything you need.
Keep in mind that you not only need to "fill" the required bars, but they need to have their cap above the amount required by the skill.

So you need your character sheet to display, as the first number after a proficiency's name, the correct level.

10+ Frontier & Wilderness
10+ Law & Lore
6+ Sparks & Embers
8+ Stocks & Cultivars
9+ Natural Philosophy
And your Perennial cap starts at 5 anyway so can't mess that one up.

After that point you need to study inspirationals to fill the respective proficiency bars with points at or over the required amount.

1000 Frontier, Law. 600 sparks, 800 stocks, 900 nat.p, and 150 perennial (get a brain from a beaver).

When all the bars are either green (full entirely, provided your proficiency level is over what you need) or bright blue, you've got enough of all the required skills. If you have a proficiency cap lower than required that skill will show up in bright red. If you still need to study for it the remainder should show up in (correct me if i'm wrong) brown/dark red.

i'm actually unsure how much of that is due to ender's client: quite a bit is, i think.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.
