I don't know if this is a know bug or not but you can make a turkey sandwich with a turkey sandwich as shown in this GIF
Do I have to put down the first sandwich to make another?
Anyways thanks for your responses! :D

You have to make sure it doesn't pick an item you don't want used as crafting materials. The same goes for a lot of other things really, making sure the right lime/granite/clay is used for pots, making sure you don't craft a singing log as a woodblock when not intended, etc etc. Just need to keep an eye on what it selects, and swap stuff around till it grabs the right thing. I noticed that it grabs available materials from lower right to upper left, going leftwards each row. But either way, this isn't a bug, a turkey sandwich is bread, and bread is the appropriate material for another turkey sammich xD

that's not true: it picks the last item that was put into the inventory first, regardless where it was put (main inventory does precede backpack and pocket inventories, though)
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Yes we are reworking the entire food industry with the purity patch. This will hopefully be fixed when we do.
