Install Issue

Postby mommacat » Sat Feb 01, 2014 3:40 pm

I was trying to load the game for the first time and it then said my security settings are preventing it from loading fully. I have no idea what that means or how to fix it. Can someone help ? I would really like to try this game out. Thank you.

Can you post screenshot of the error?

Possibly you have to update java or lower its security settings.

I do not know how to take a screenshot. I tried again and it says, security settings have prevented a self signed program from running.

Run javacpl.exe and lower the security settings to medium
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Lowering the global security settings for Java is a terrible solution to any problem, just like turning off your firewall or virus checker. Is there a real fix for this issue?

you can send the designers a fat check for a Java sig, or you can lower the security settings. Its not an issue with the game, its an issue with java

Basically, Oracle is screwing on anyone that won't pay for a "trusted" certificate.
