Lets ponder this:
A) Engulfing a 150s (no upkeep) pclaim with a 2500s (+upkeep) vclaim.
B) Blocking expansion/gates/griefing a 2500s vclaim (+upkeep) with a couple of cheap 150s pclaims (no upkeep) and/or making pclaims so they get inside walls of a town when they expand.
If you are a griefer, which tactic would you pick? Going around throwing $50 worth of town bells over some crappy homes (A)? Or fking up large settlements (B)?
If you want so much to make the game friendly for pclaim owners, make the expropriation take into account buildings lost. That means that everything must have a NPC base price, like nails do. That would mean taking over FULLY BUILT pclaim will cost a ***** of money, while the owner can go and settle somewhere else. Or simply make a "Demolish Building" option that would return a portion of the materials to the owner.
PS: I'm still curious what larceny exploit Serj is talking about and what exactly happened (a screenshot would've helped), because he said he still has his claim, but for some strange reason he can't access it. As most people know, a vclaim does nothing of that sort - you can trespass freely on it. Unless he put storage boxes outside his claim and now they belong to town OR they walled in his pclaim (he still should be able to teleport in and out), he should have no problems.
