[Resolved] Laptop Pan/Zoom Issue.

Postby happy420x » Tue Oct 29, 2013 1:51 am

Resolved
Code: Select all
The Latikai client has fixed the laptop issue. I just recently discovered this option.
I hope this post will help anyone else with a laptop.

Link to Latikai Ender client:
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=50 (Opps, this is ender client)

Real Link to Latikai client:
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=7681 (The Latikai has the touchpad pan/zoom support)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since I'm on a laptop. How am I suppose to pan or zoom?

Would it be possible to add option to change some key settings like mouse wheel?
Zoom in: MWU (Should be) Page Up
Zoom out: MWD (Should be) Page Down
Pan View: MWB (Should be) Left Shift

If the custom clients like Latikai or Ender would add this option, it would improve playability for laptop users.
I am go crazing just trying to pan the view but cant....
The auto pan is way way to slow and seems to always face the opposite direction the guy is moving in.

Also, getting blocked by objects instead of sliding around them is a very frustrating.
And the auto climb, auto balance on cliffs is annoying. you have to left click to stop, WASD shouldn't auto anything except move.

If anyone could please add these features/fixes, it would make playing a hell of a lot easier and friendly.

Thanks.

There's at least some support for this in Latikai's client, I believe it's in the latikai section of the options... Something like laptop mode, away from my computer right now sorry :( Did you already try messing around with that?

Yes, I just discovered it as you were posting. (updated OP)
Thank you for your assistance!

Another option is to look for mouse/pointing device drivers that will let you use keyboard combos to mimic the mouse buttons you don't have. Check computer documentation, too. Many newer laptops with multi-touch touchpads have middle mouse/scrollwheel functionality.

As a side-note, I implemented that function quickly for a friend that only momentarily was without a mouse on her laptop. Hence, the feature isn't awfully well tested: it's just a quick and dirty fix to be able to do all things with a touchscreen, but it might not all be easy or straightforward. Feel free to PM any feedback you have on it, it will be appreciated.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.
