Launch/download client ISSUES

When i sign into my account I hit the Download client button but it fails to download. The starting application window pops up, it says downloading application, but the green progressing meter stops... I have the current most up to date JAVA..
Is this a windows thing? please help

It's likely a software issue other than Windows or a problem with your end of the network. Check any security software and make sure that Java is allowed to install apps. Try disabling security software temporarily while Salem downloads. If the download of Salem starts, it's not Windows causing the problem. If you've ruled out your security software (or any other software on your system), you may need to check your hardware. While this isn't difficult, it can be very technical and is best left to someone that can access it such as your ISP or a computer tech.

Note that installing a Java program can be a slow process. It can take 20-30 minutes (or longer) on some machines to load Salem into Java's cache.

How long have you waited? It should be said that Java Web Start's progress meter isn't exactly optimal, to say the least (and I've considered trying to replace it with my own somehow), since it doesn't display speed or any kind of more exact progress or anything, and downloading the client may take some time on slower connections. The total download size is ~60 MB currently.

hey, ive got the exact same problem with my download it wont go past 3/4 of the download... i really want to play this game so please help

I have an issue of a similar nature.

I can download the client, but half my items won't render- Admiral Uniform, canoe, etc... lots of '?' in inventory and character page. Then I get an error that my client is too old, please update.

It really isn't. I'm guessing your Java Web Start client is messing up its caches or something, rather. Try clearing your Java cache and redownload the client.
