They claim that it got hit with so many visitors to the maps at once that it crashed the server. We all know this is impossible though, unless that host had truly terrible hardware... there just aren't enough people playing Salem for that many visitors at once. I am constantly running the current map script on a local Linux/Apache server - the peak resource usage that my tests saw were 20 megs of ram and a spike to 1% CPU usage on a system running 3gigs of RAM with a dualcore 2.9GHz cpu. That was with all 9 of the other computers that are here at my parents house browsing the separate maps at once.
Either way, the maps will be back up tomorrow sometime, depending upon how faster the tiles upload. I will post the new link here when its done (and it will have updated Roanoke and Jamestown maps, I've had quite a few emails and PM's sending in tiles ).

Yes, he has asked me if I needed hosting. I may take him up on it, since I ended up semi-going with someones DropBox suggestion, at least until each map is completed. The images are on my Dropbox, while the actual pages (JS, PHP), will be on a server.
The current address is http://salemmaps.com.nu
Only Plymouth has finished uploading, the other two are still in progress. The net here is having some speed issues today - upload hasn't gone over 80kB/s all day.
(Also, could someone let me know, using the Plymouth map, if the maps load incredibly slow or if speed is ok, this way? With the speeds issue here, I really can't test.)
Edit/Update: Jamestown /Roanoke uploaded.
We are currently at (tile amounts on the map. I have between 300-1000 tiles for each map that are not on it, because they are not connected to anything):
Jamestown: 9,801
Plymouth: 11,030
Roanoke: 19,462
