You know the funny thins is when Gallows hills started out. The goal was to be a Ranger town. And when that stopped being what they were about I Stopped playing the game. When I Came back they acted like douche bags to me. And I left and never looked back. Even though I hated seeing the town fall when it did. I was also glad to see it go. But I also was not involved with the pvp side of things either. I pretty much just worked on my plot and hunted. I do miss that part of the game. Just don't seem like that is much of a possibility to do anymore.

From what I heard you got butthurt on a regular basis because of your religious beliefs. Statements like "god damn" were a real issue for you and people were not willing to censor themselves for one person who was majorly inactive. Not to mention you refused to declaim your pclaim within the village and went MIA without warning.

I tried to stop playing and searched for a similar game just because i've played so long it's kind of boring. went back to minecraft but it's getting old fast. was going to try the sims again but basically i just overplayed. with a game like salem though you always go back and do things differently making it an entirely new game. for now with the move taking place and nothing really new for the game to offer me i am taking it easy on salem.

If you leech off of well developed players, it's easier. This argument has been made and, as a leech, you're getting tons of benefit without doing a lick of work. In the old system absolutely leeching was a bit more difficult because even if you ate all of the food and used all of the silk, you had to still craft things to get lp -- such as deforesting the town's wood stocks to make baskets or using the steel supplies to spam low quality steel plates.

That said, for anyone who isn't immediately associated with a wealthy faction that'll support them, you spend more time and energy gathering curiosities early, mid, and late game than you did grinding lp in the old system. We've seen a substantial increase to the build-up of worlds because of this. I don't think anyone remembers w3 and w4 where most major towns had murder characters and full-on brick walled towns within a day. Slower, weaker players took two days. I think we're closer to 3 days for a murder character now, which is a significant shift considering this is a character that a group is focusing all of their efforts on building up, and probably around 4 or 5ish for a fully functional town to establish itself -- especially now that wild resource quality is hardcapped by survival.

Foraging was always one of my favourite parts of Haven, but dem goddamn bears man...

Permadeath from animals is just too hardcore for me.
